ISLAMABAD – In Afghanistan, thirty Afghan civilians have been killed inU.S. airstrikes in Helmand province.
Officials and residents of the area told Reuters that Afghan governmentforces and U.S. advisers called in air support, after coming under attack,but the victims of the strikes were civilians.
However, Helmand provincial governor Mohammad Yasin Khan said troops hadcalled in air strikes against Taliban fighters in Garmsir district causingboth civilian and Taliban casualties.
