Kartarpur opening exemplary step of Imran Khan: Sidhu

ISLAMABAD: Former Indian cricketer and politician Navjot Singh Sidhu said opening of Kartarpur Corridor was exemplary step of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan which would enhance people to people contact.

Nobody opened Kartarpur Corridor in 71 years but his friend Imran Khan had done this only in three months of short period, he said while talking to a private news channel.

“I have been a fan of Imran Khan since I was a child,” Sidhu said. People to people contact would promote and bring development and prosperity for Pakistan and India, he added.

He said Imran Khan would perform groundbreaking of the corridor in ceremony on November 28 as it would pave ways of trade and business activities between the two countries.

“The seed that Imran Khan sews three months ago has become a tree now. I want to thank Pakistani Prime Minister and officials,” he said and added that Imran Khan told that if Indian government would come one-step then he would come two steps.

He said, “Kartarpur corridor will prove to be a path of peace and happiness could come only in six months. This all was happened due to goodwill and honesty from both the sides.” Sidhu questioned that what we achieved in closing the boarders. He expressed hope that everything was occurring positive regarding the corridor.
