After hurling allegations against Pakistani agencies, Indian Punjab CM regrets coming Pakistan

LAHORE – India’s Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh said that hecannot attend the Kartarpur border opening event until the violence alongthe LoC comes to a halt.

Singh had earlier criticised Pakistani agencies over involvement inAmritsar terror attack.

In a letterlinkForeign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, he said that he must “mostreluctantly regret his inability to be present”.

“I hope the Prime Minister [Imran Khan] will understand that under thesecircumstances it will not be possible for me to be present in Pakistan onthis historic occasion, despite the fact that paying my respects atGurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib has always been my cherished dream which willhopefully be fulfilled once these hostilities and killings are stopped,” hesaid.

On the other hand, Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu said that he willparticipate in the event.

“I look forward to meeting you on this historic occasion. My applicationfor permission to attend is now lodged with MEA,” Sidhu responded to thePakistani Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
