*KARACHI – Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Ali Zaidi, on Sundayannounced compensation for heirs of two policemen who lost their lives inattack on the Chinese Consulate on November 23.*
Zaidi said he would give Rs 5,00,000 to heirs of each martyred cop, whilealso announcing to bear educational expenses of children of the deceasedpolicemen.
He praised the gallantry displayed by security guard Jumman Shah who foughtthe attackers, and said ‘people like Jumman are our real heroes.’ He alsoannounced Rs 3,00,000 for the guard.
Two policemen, ASI Ashraf Daud, 40, and constable Amir Khan, 30, and asecurity guard, Jumman Shah, 40, were injured during the attack.
Couple of days ago, the Sindh government had announced Rs 12.5 millioncompensation money for the families of each assassinated police official,who embraced martyrdom while foiling terrorist attack on the consulate.
Adviser to Sindh chief minister on Information Murtaza Wahab announcedRs12.5 million compensation money for the families of each police officialsand Rs1 million for the injured private guard. He also announced that theSindh government will bear all the medical expenses of the guard.
