Pakistan wins hearts of Sikh community world over

ISLAMABAD – Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has welcomed India’sdecision to send its two ministers to attend the ground-breaking ofKartarpur Corridor, terming it a positive response to Pakistan’s move.

He expressed these views while talking to APP during his visit to the stallof Indian High Commission at the Pakistan Foreign Office Women’sAssociation charity bazar in Islamabad.

The Foreign Minister said India has responded well to Pakistan’s initiativein its bid to bring the Sikh community closer.

Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj in reply to Foreign MinisterQureshi’s letter has confirmed sending two ministers namely Harsimrat KaurBadal and Hardeep Singh Puri to attend the Kartarpur event scheduled forWednesday.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Pakistan has won the hearts of millions of Sikhswith a single but significant step.

He expressed confidence that Kartarpur Corridor would attract members ofSikh community to Pakistan from across the globe including the UnitedStates and United Kingdom.

He said the Sikh community will be greeted here amid sentiments of love andwould take back positive image about Pakistan and its people.

Earlier, Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan Ajay Bisaria received ForeignMinister Qureshi at the stall.

The Foreign Minister also paid visit to various stalls set up by othercountries including China, Turkey, Japan and Central Asian states.
