CENTURION – The Pakistan Cricket Board on Friday has responded over mediareports of coach Micky Arthur abusing and bashing senior players ofPakistan cricket squad.
PCB refuted media reports related to coach Mickey Arthur’s ‘angrybehaviour’ following the team’s batting collapse on day two of the ongoingTest against South Africa at Centurion.
In a statement, the team management clarified that the allegations thatArthur lost his cool with the senior players after Pakistan’s battingfailure in the closing hours of the day’s play were “grossly exaggerated”.
Pakistan slipped from 100 for one at tea to 190 all out on Thursday, at onepoint losing five wickets for 25 in 11 overs.
Captain Sarfraz Ahmed failed to score any runs; Azhar Ali was out for aduck too, while Asad Shafiq managed to score just six runs, leaving thetail exposed to the destructive South African pacers who bowled outPakistan for 190.
Sources had said Arthur lashed out at the three batsmen, hurling abuses atthem and throwing things around in the dressing room in frustration.
