Pakistan Navy Chief holds meeting with PM Imran Khan

*ISLAMABAD: Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi called onPrime Minister Imran Khan in the federal capital on Wednesday, RadioPakistan reported.*

According to details, the professional matters related to Pakistan Navywere discussed during the meeting.

Earlier in December, Pakistan Navy inducted its first upgraded ATR aircraftand two Sea King helicopters in its fleet to augment effectiveness andenhance its operational capability.

The ATR aircraft’s widely operated turboprop platform has been retrofittedwith state of the art weapons and sensors, which will substantially enhanceFleet Air Arm’s operational capability commensurate with contemporarymaritime warfare requirements.

Similarly, two Mk 3A/ Mk 4 Sea King helicopters acquired from the UK intoits existing fleet of Sea King helicopters will further enhance PN fleet’soperational capability particularly to troops transfer.

Speaking on the occasion of induction ceremony, Admiral Zafar MehmoodAbbasi said Pakistan Navy has been successfully confronting emergingchallenges of deterring terrorism at sea, curbing piracy in the region andcarrying out maritime security operations.
