NEW DELHI – Indian National Investigation Agency (NIA) has revealed thatIS module is planning to carryout terrorist attack in Delhi and adjoiningareas.
NIA conducted raids across 16 locations in Uttar Pradesh and New Delhiagainst Harkat ul Harm e Islam – a suspected terror module styled on thelines of the Islamic State.
It is suspected that the IS module had plans of carrying out attacks acrossthe country – especially in Delhi and its adjoining areas.
The NIA has reportedly detained several suspects during the raids and willquestion them. UP ATS has confirmed that five persons have been arrested inAmroha. Most of the raids in UP have occurred in the western part of thestate including Meerut, Hapur, Amroha and Ghaziabad.
Zee News correspondent Pramod reported from Jafarabad that the raids herebegan from 0400hrs and that a team of close to 20 vehicles with severalofficials came in for the operation.
