Pakistan collapses against South Africa in first test match at Centurion

CENTURION – Pakistan cricket team collapsed against South Africa in thefirst test match at Centurion.

Pakistan is 111-8 at the moment against South Africa in what is first ofthe three-Test series. Pakistan, who lost earlier wickets, were 76-4 by thelunch time. Five of its batsmen could not score in double digits.

At the bowling end, Duanne Olivier took five wickets which is his firstfive-wicket haul.

Earlier, South African fast Dale Steyn broke the national Test record ofmost wickets formerly held by former Proteas skipper Shaun Pollock. Steynearned his 422 Test wicket in the form of Fakhar Zaman who got caught atthe individual score of 12.

Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat first in first of the three Testseries against South Africa at SuperSport Park in Centurion today.

The green shirts are trying to recover from a recent blow against NewZealand in a recently held Test series in the United Arab Emirates. Men ingreen, however, face problems with their bowling attack as their quickMuhammad Abbas along with spinner Shadab Khan are ruled out of the firstTest owing to critical injuries.

In the absence of Abbas-Shadab duo, right-arm fast Hasan Ali, seasonedMuhammad Amir and young gun Shaheen Afridi will be holding theresponsibility.
