SRINAGAR – An APHC delegation comprising Bilal Siddiqi, Molvi Bashir Ahmedand Muhammad Yasin Attai and a team of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movementvisited Tral and Pulwama areas and expressed solidarity with the familiesof the youth recently martyred by the troops.
Senior APHC leader and the Chairman Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and KashmirMuhammad Ashraf Sehrai has expressed serious concern over the ill-treatmentmeted out to the Kashmiri detainees lodged in Kathua Jail in Jammu by theprison authorities.
In a statement in Srinagar, he said that family members and relatives ofsome of the detainees lodged in Kathua Jail informed that the jailauthorities have made the life of the inmates miserable as they were beatenevery day without any reason.
Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai urged the Kashmir High Court Bar Association andhuman rights organisations to take up the matter with InternationalCommittee of Red Cross, Amnesty International and Asia Watch so that theyvisit Kathua Jail and see for themselves as to how the Kashmiri detaineesare being maltreated by the jail authorities.
