ISLAMABAD – Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah has been honoured andrecognised by the United Nations.
An agreement was signed between the information ministry and a UN body toupload Jinnah speeches to the latter’s website.
The agreement had been signed between the Ministry of Information andBroadcasting, National Historical Heritage and the United NationsEducational and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO).
Under the agreement, a comprehensive strategy has been devised to uploadall the speeches Jinnah made from 1914 to 1947 on to the ‘Memory of theWorld’ archive of UNESCO.
The information ministry had requested UNESCO to include speeches of Jinnahon the website and the Memory of the World — which is part of UNESCO’sHeritage Programme.
