ISLAMABAD – Inspector General Wajid Zia on Monday said that he will try hisbest to improve the performance of the Pakistan Raikways.
Zia took charge as the inspector general of Railways Police.
Zia, a Grade-21 officer who belongs to the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP)cadre, was earlier serving as additional director general (immigration) atthe Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) when he was appointed as the head ofa six-member JIT, formed by the Supreme Court (SC) to probe into thePanamagate – a scandal which had jolted the political landscape in Pakistanand elsewhere in the world.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Shariq Jamal Khan briefed Ziaabout the department’s operations upon his arrival.
The Panama JIT-fame bureaucrat said that he will try his best to improvethe performance of Railways Police.
