In reciprocation, India releases Pakistani prisoner alleged of spying in India

ISLAMABAD – India has reciprocated to the Pakistan move of releasing thealleged Indian spy Hamid Nehal Ansari.

A Pakistani man who was charged in India over alleged spying is beingreleased from Indian jail.

He had travelled to India to marry his cousin but ended up beingincarcerated has been released after 10 years, diplomatic sources said.

Imran Warsi, who hails from Karachi, will be handed over to Pakistaniauthorities via Wagah Border on December 26, after being released from ajail in Bhopal.

The Pakistan High Commission in Delhi was informed of the decision byIndian authorities, sources said.

Warsi’s sentence ended in January, but he was not released due to failureto pay fine.

A social worker based in Bhopal called Syed Abid Hussain played aninstrumental role in getting him released.

In a video message, Warsi said that his wife and kids are residing inIndia, and he will seek help from Pakistani authorities to bring them tohis home country.
