Five suspected Iranians with Pakistani passports of Gwadar, Turbat area arrested

ISLAMABAD – Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Wednesday arrested fiveIranian nationals from Tubat, a city of Balochistan province possessioningPakistani passports and CNICs obtained through fraudulent means.

According to a senior FIA official, they were arrested at Turbat Airportwhile arriving from Bahrain on Pakistani passports. They have beentraveling to and from Bahrain on fraudulent Pakistani passports since 2014.ADVERTISING

Bahrain police arrested some ‘Pakistanis’ over charges of committing acrime and sent them to a prison in Manama July 2018.

On this, a Pakistan embassy’s consular visited the jail on September 13,2018, it unearthed that the arrested suspects were actually Iraniannationals having Pakistani passports, the FIA official added.

Resultantly, an alert was issued to all airports in the country and thedetails of the suspects were shared with all relevant authorities inPakistan.

As a result, on December 13, when all the accused landed at Turbat airport,they were immediately arrested by the FIA.

The accused belong to Iran’s Sistan-Baluchistan province. They were issuedPakistani passports and CNICs in Gwadar and Turbat, the official said.
