ABU DHABI – Talks between Afghan Taliban and United States officialscontinued for the second day in Abu Dhabi today (Tuesday).

An Afghan government delegation also arrived in Abu Dhabi today forparticipation in the talks.

Earlier, the Taliban had said that its delegates had no plan to meet withmembers of the Kabul government.

Initially, the talks between the Taliban emissaries and a team led by U.S.envoy Zalmay Khalilzad, as well as officials from Pakistan, Saudi Arabiaand the United Arab Emirates, were expected to last one day but Talibanspokesman Zabiullah Mujahid confirmed that the meetings would continuetoday.
