ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Senate has passed unanimously three resolutions onTuesday calling upon the government to take immediate steps to addressmatters of public interest.
The first resolution called upon the government to implement the system ofZakat and Usher and Islamic economic system in its true spirit.
The second resolution urged the government to take immediate steps toensure that complete name of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be used in officialcorrespondence instead of its acronym KPK or KP.
The third resolution called upon the government to take immediate steps forthe implementation of the commitments, made at the time of merger of FATAinto Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, regarding the release of three percent of fundsfrom the NFC award and creation of twenty thousand jobs for the youth ofthose areas.
Earlier, the Senate resumed its session at the Parliament House inIslamabad Tuesday afternoon with Deputy Chairman Saleem Mandviwala in thechair.
Three bills were introduced in the House.
They are “The Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2018 (Amendment of FourthSchedule)”, The Constitution (Amendment) Bill 2018 (Amendment of Article27)”, and “The Child Marriage Restraint (Amendment) Bill, 2018.”
The chair referred the bills to the concerned standing committees of theHouse for further deliberations.
