ISLAMABAD – The Supreme Court on Thursday has announced verdict in acontempt of court case against Dr Amir Liaqat Hussain.
SC has accepted the unconditional apology tendered by Dr. Aamir LiaquatHussain, the renowned media personality and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)lawmaker, in a contempt of court case.
A three-member bench, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar,was hearing a case initiated against him for violating earlier court ordersdirecting him not to use hate speech or derogatory language againstindividuals, including media persons.
On Nov 7, the PTI leader was inducted in a case of contempt of Court by thesupreme court.

During the hearing of the case, the renowned media personality had tenderedan unconditional apology before the apex court, however, justice AijazulAhsan remarked that the time for the apology had already lapsed.
Though Liaquat pleaded not guilty to the charge, the apex court indictedhim under Article 204(3) of the constitution.
