ISLAMABAD – The Supreme Court has given a landmark judgement in the case ofprivate schools fee hike.
SC has directed the private schools across the country to reduce their feeby twenty percent with immediate effect ans further return the 50% feecharged for summer vacations.
A three member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Mian SaqibNisar announced an interim order in Islamabad on Thursday while hearinga suo motto case pertaining to fees of private schools.
The bench said the schools cannot raise the fee by more thanfive percentannually. It said the private schools will have to takepermission from the regulatory authority if they want to raise the fee bymore than five percent.
The bench also directed the private schools to pay back fifty percent ofthe fee they collected in the summer vacations from the parents or adjustthem in the coming months.
