ISLAMABAD – Turkey has evinced interest to help upgrade Pakistan Railwaysand its operations.

The interest was expressed by eight member delegation of Turkish StateRailway companies Talamsas and Raymisas during a meeting with Minister forRailways Sheikh Rashid Ahmad in Islamabad on Monday.

In his remarks on the occasion, Sheikh Rashid Ahmad said Pakistan isupgrading its rail network with international partnership. He welcomedTurkish interest in Pakistan’s Railways. He said all projects of Pakistanrailways are open for Turkish companies and we are ready to work with them.

Sheikh Rashid said Pakistan will definitely benefit from the Turkishexpertise and experience for upgradation of Risalpur Locomotive and Railwaycarriage factories.

The Railways Minister said the entire region could be connected throughrailways which will usher in a new era of development.

The Turkish delegation will visit different facilities of Pakistan Railwaysduring its five day tour.
