PIA is in news yet for the wrong reasons

LAHORE – Pakistan International Airline (PIA), on Saturday sent the luggageof six passengers to Jeddah while the passengers themselves were offloadedat the Allama Iqbal International Airport.

According to the details, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had barredthe passengers from travelling, citing inadequate travel documents.

The incident is a violation of international law that states that theluggage of a passenger may not be transported to a country without thepassenger’s presence in that country. Therefore, the airline’s incompetencehas led to the Saudi Civil Aviation (SCA) taking action against PIA.

According to the airline’s officials, the concerned staff has beenquestioned about the mistake. “We have sought the luggage and it would bereturned to the passengers soon,” an airline official told the media.
