ISLAMABAD – China is keen to boost its trade with Pakistan with an increaseits imports of food items.

The Ambassador of China Yao Jing stated this in a meeting with the MinisterFood Securities and Research Sahibzada Mahboob Sultan in Islamabad.

The Chinese envoy said that China has decided to import potatoes fromPakistan and a Chinese delegation is set to come to Pakistan soon in thisrespect.

He said that food items like cherries, potatoes, wheat, citrus, rice andmangoes will be imported from Pakistan by Beijing.

He told the minister that China wants to utilize the technical know-how ofPakistani seed experts to review the prospects and avenues of producinghybrid rice in China.
