LAHORE – A Pakistani and a Chinese varsity have joined hands to set up amodern cybersecurity research centre (CSRC) with the rising trends of theworld moving towards advanced cyber weapons in a world of fifth generationwarfare.
To formalize the partnership, Beihang University (BUAA), (one of the top 16universities of China), Dean of the School of Cyber Science and TechnologyProfessor Liu Jian-wei visited National University of Sciences andTechnology (NUST) on Friday.
In the partnership between the NUST and the BUAA of China the cybersecuritycentre will be set up at the NUST School of Electrical Engineering andComputer Science (SEECS).
Jian-wei hoped that the partnership will go a long way in developingresearch in cybersecurity, adding that cybersecurity has become a vitaldomain for the whole world.
He also informed that apart from setting up the cybersecurity centre, thepartnership between the varsities will also see multiple educational andproductive activities like; mutual exchange of faculty and students, ajoint symposia, conferences, workshops and summer schools.
