ISLAMABAD – Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda says in a majorbreakthrough India has finally agreed to Pakistan’s request for inspectionof its projects in Chenab basin.

In a tweet on Friday, the Minister said the move came after our continuedefforts seeking a negotiated settlement of the longstanding Indus WaterTreaty dispute between Pakistan and India.

The Minister said he has directed his team headed by Commissioner for IndusWaters Mehr Ali to visit and carry out inspection of projects from 27thJanuary to 1st of February 2019.

Faisal Vawda said it’s indeed a feather in Ministry for water resources’cap and we welcome this gesture from India and expect the same spirit forresolution of other outstanding issues.
