Three international standard state of the Art Universities to be established in Punjab

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Wednesday announcedthat three state-of-the-art universities would be established in theprovince.

Talking to different delegations at his office, CM Buzdar said that theseuniversities would be established in northern, southern and central partsof the province and added that feasibility studies were being conducted forthe establishment of these universities.

According to a statement released from his office, the chief minister saidthat the world-class universities would play an important role in thenational development. He said that particular attention will be given tothe aspect of research and development in the higher education sector andit will be made compatible with the emerging challenges by best utilizinglatest technology.

The chief minister said, “We will achieve targets set for the educationsector and as a result, the educational scenario will be totallytransformed in the province.

He said that education is the best mean of dealing with issues likepoverty, unemployment and ignorance. CM Buzdar said that a comprehensivestrategy had been devised to synchronize the education sector with theneeds and requirements of the current era.

The chief minister said that bringing necessary improvements in theeducation sector is the priority agenda of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)government. He said that the government allocated Rs373 bn for theeducation sector in the current fiscal year.
