Three Iranian women among top 50 scientists of Asia

TEHRAN – The Association of Academies and Societies of Sciences in Asia(AASSA) has published the names of top 50 scientists in the continentincluding three Iranian women, IRNA reported on Wednesday.Tahereh Kaghazchi, an Iranian chemical engineering educator and member ofIranian Academy of Sciences, Iranian Petroleum Society, is one of the topscientists in AASSA list.Zahra Emam-Djomeh, a PhD in Food Engineering and Technology is an educatorat Department of Food Science and Technology, Faculty of AgronomyEngineering and Technology as well as College of Agriculture and NaturalResources in University of Tehran, Karaj, Iran.The list also includes Dr Mahshid Firouzi, an Iranian national residing inAustralia. She is an Advance Queensland Research Fellow in the School ofChemical Engineering at the University of Queensland.The AASSA is a forum for scientists and technologists to discuss andprovide advice on issues related to science and technology, research anddevelopment, and the application of science and technology forsocio-economic development. – APP/IRNA
