US dollar registers increase against Pakistani Rupee

ISLAMABAD – The US Dollar on Tuesday has registered an increase againstPakistani rupee both in open market and interbank market.

Dollar resistered an ubxrease of 5 paisa in open market after which it wastrading at Rs138.88.

However, in open market, the value of dollar increased by 10 paisa afterwhich it traded at Rs139.20.

The value of Pakistani Rupee had depreciated by around 26 percent over theyear, as the greenback strengthened by Rs28.36, from Rs110.5 per USD onJanuary 1, 2018 to Rs138.8.

The heaviest round of depreciation occurred in October when the greenbackgained over PKR 9 at the interbank market, taking a leap from Rs124.3 USDto Rs133.6 per USD.
