India’s iron-fist policy can’t break Kashmirs’ resolve: Sehrai

ISLAMABAD: The Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai in Indian occupied Kashmir has said that the Kashmir dispute can never be resolved through military might as it is a political and a human issue, based on the principle of the right to self-determination.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “Kashmir dispute has historical background and context which can’t be ignored and dealing with it militarily and adopting iron-fist policy is not going to break the resolve of the people of Kashmir. It would rather further strengthen their commitment towards their cause.”

“People of Kashmir can never forget the crimes perpetrated by New Delhi and would continue to strive for their goal of right to self-determination till it is achieved,” Sehrai said and added that Kashmiris had been facing the worst kind of atrocities for the past three decades despite that they were steadfast on their resolve.

Meanwhile, a Tehreek-e-Hurriyat spokesman in a statement said, “On the directives of Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, a The delegation led by Baramulla district President Mufti Abdul Ahad and Muhammad Syed visited martyrs’ graveyard at Sopore and offered congregational fateha for the people killed in January 1993.”

Sehrai condemned the destruction of residential houses at Aaripal, Tral and the displacement of families amidst the winter chill on Saturday.
