NAB warns media, vow to take action against speculative news

ISLAMABAD – National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Monday asked media toavoid broadcasting/ publishing speculative news items/reports regarding NABcases until confirming from spokesman of the anti graft watchdog.

According to a press release, NAB warned that the bureau reserves the rightof taking legal action against publishing/ broadcasting of baseless,contrary to the facts and speculative news items on the ongoing complaintverification, investigations and inquiries being conducted by the NAB.Anynews item attributed/related to NAB should be confirmed from the spokesmanof NAB before airing or publishing.

Meanwhile, Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Justice JavedIqbal has directed all director generals of the Bureau to call accusedrelated to the under investigation at stipulated time and ensure protectingand respecting their self esteem.

The chairman directed the DGs to conduct investigations by collectingrelevant evidence and unnecessary delay in this regard would not betolerated.The relevant DG would be held responsible for any delay ininvestigations. – APP
