ISLAMABAD – Azad Jammu and Kashmir government has announced to observe 2019as Year of Tourism.
A function was held in this connection at Kohala, the main entry point ofthe Azad Kashmir, where AJK Secretary Tourism Midhat Shahzad briefed peopleabout the tourism potential in the state.
Under the special directives of AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan,the state government has evolved a comprehensive plan to promote tourismthrough Public Private Partnership in the state.
Under the plan, steps would be taken to generate revenue through tourismpromotion and to increase employment opportunities in the state.
Tourism Department’s sources said that “Smart Cards” are being issued forthe tourists visiting scenic areas of the state to provide them maximumfacilities.
