RAWALPINDI – Pakistan Army on Friday has achieved a big milestone in thestep towards self reliance in military equipment.Pakistan army inductedA-100 Rocket in Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) to its ArtilleryCorps, said a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR),the military’s public relations wing.
The A-100 has been indigenously developed by Pakistani scientists andengineers, having a range of over 100 kilometers. This highly effectiveprojectile is potent for interdiction that can effectively disrupt enemy’smobilisation and assembly, the ISPR statement read.
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa attended the inductionceremony as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, the COAS paid rich tributes to scientists andengineers for indigenously developing A-100, which shall augment theexisting conventional fire power capabilities of Pakistan Army.
General Bajwa emphasised Pakistan Army’s resolve to strengthen conventionalforces to meet challenges of a full-spectrum threat.
He said that Pakistani defence industry has maintained steady progress inthe recent times and has contributed to defence of Pakistan.
