ISLAMABAD – Islamabad High Court (IHC) Registrar Friday once again returnedthe appeal of former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif against theverdict of accountability court in Al-Azizia Steel Mills referenceexpressing reservations and declaring it incomplete.Earlier, it was filed on January 1, which was also returned by the IHCstating it incomplete.On Thursday the counsel for Nawaz Sharif, Khawaja Haris filed the pleaagain in IHC for suspension of the sentence of seven years imprisonmentalong with fine of Rs1.5 billion and US $25 million in the Al-Aziziacorruption reference awarded by the accountability court after removingobjections.The registrar again returns the appeal by calling it incomplete.The accountability court on December 24, announced the verdict in areference filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in light of theSupreme Court’s 2016 Panamagate verdict.
Nawaz Sharif in the plea had requested the IHC for declaring theaccountability court’s verdict null and void and also sought bail in thecase.The registrar raised objections and returned it by declaring incomplete anddirected to file it again after removing objections.
