India damaging Pakistan s agriculture through water terrorism: MPA

MULTAN: PTI MPA Zaheerud Din Alizai said that a country could spoil the economy of another country by blocking the water of its rivers as India was trying to destroy the agriculture of Pakistan through water terrorism.

Speaking at a press conference, here he said there was no life without water, adding that construction of dams in the country was dire need of the hour.

“India is going to build more than 90 dams on our rivers,” he said and added that India had constructed Kishanganga Dam at the River Jhelum and also stopped water by building a dam on the River Chenab.

He blamed that the previous governments did not focus on the issue and lost its case in the International Court of Justice about Indian activity on the River Chenab.

He announced to donate his five years salary as MPA to the dam fund, and said that he would continue to motivate people for contribution in the national cause.

He said that the barren land of DG Khan could be made more fertile to produce maximum food crops by constructing Upper Left Canal there.

Alizai maintained that the incumbent government would construct the dam in order to secure future of generations to come, adding that different initiatives were being taken for strengthening the country’s economy.
