MARDAN – A nine-year-old girl has been raped and murdered in Nowshera,Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Mardan region reported on Tuesday.
While talking to media, DIG Mardan Muhammad Ali Khan said that the accusednamed Yasir has been arrested and was friend of victim’s father and he hadalso attended the funeral prayers of the nine-year old Manahil.
DIG said that at least 20 suspects were under investigation while policehad taken 200 DNA samples.
He added that police identified the accused after his DNA matched with thesamples taken from the victim’s body and was arrested the accused from hisresidence.
