ISLAMABAD – Like other parts of the world, Pakistani nation also welcomedthe advent of new year with traditional zeal and passion.
As the clock struck 12.00 am, spectacular displays of fireworks were heldat several places across the country.
In his message on the advent of New Year, Prime Minister Imran Khan hassaid that year 2019 is the year for beginning of Pakistan’s golden era.
The Prime Minister said our New Year resolution is to wage jihad againstthe four ills of poverty, illiteracy, injustice and corruption.
Our efforts for economic development will yield fruit in 2019: FM
Minister for Foreign Affairs Shah Mahmood Qureshi has greeted the nation onthe New Year.
In his message on the occasion, he said 2018 was the year of change and2019 is the year of struggle.
The Foreign Minister said our efforts for economic development will yieldfruit this year and through economic diplomacy foreign investment willincrease manifold.
He said 2019 will be the year of economic stability, bright hopes andaspirations for the Pakistanis living abroad. He added the issues ofoverseas Pakistanis will be solved on priority basis.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi said we will promote our external relations inaccordance with our party manifesto to bring peace and stability in theregion.
