Punjab Cabinet makes history

LAHORE – The meeting of Punjab Cabinet held in Bahawalpur on Saturday withChief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar in the chair.

Frst ever meeting of provincial cabinet in Bahawalpur discussed twentythree items on its agenda.

The cabinet decided to increase the salaries of doctors posted in remoteareas of the province

While briefing to the media, Punjab Minister for InformationFayyaz UlHassan Chohan said that cabinet also approved to confirm the ad hocassistant professors posted in the medical colleges established in theremote areas of province including Dera Ghazi Khan and Sialkot.

He said that the meeting approved the appointment of Vice Chancellor forCholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Bahawalpur.

Later talking to media men, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar saidthat provincial government to assess the genuine problems faced by themasses of South Punjab and will be addressed amicably.

He said that this process will be continued and more meeting will be heldat other divisional headquarters of Punjab to assess the problems at grassroot level.

With reference to new province in South Punjab, the Punjab Chief Ministersaid that PTI government took it as its top priority and formed committeesat federal and provincial level for making recommendations for thisimportant task.

He announced the establishment of an independent secretariat with anadditional chief secretary and Inspector General for South Punjab from thenext financial year.
