KAZAKHSTAN – Dingaul Tasova, a model in Kazakhstan – a secularMuslim-majority country formally part of the Soviet Union – claims she wasbeaten up because of her choice of clothing at a fashion event – FashionNight Astana.
Tasova however has vowed not to remain silent and says she will speak upagainst domestic violence and cruelty towards women and children in herconservative country.
In an Instagram post, the model put up pictures of herself covered inbruises and wondered if she could be beaten up for merely doing her jobwondering if pain and humiliation was par for the course. She wrote in her post: “Physical wounds are nothing compared to the mentalwounds he inflicted. I firmly decided for myself that I should not keepsilent about it.
