ISLAMABAD – The authorities have beefed up the so-called security measuresin Srinagar and other areas ahead of Indian PrimeMinister, Narendra Modi’s visit to the territory tomorrow (Sunday).According to Kashmir Media Service (KMS) , the occupation authorities havedeployed Indian police and troops in strength in Srinagar, Jammu and otherareas. The troops and police personnel conducted a security drill in theLal Chowk area of Srinagar, causing huge inconvenience to the people.
They used drones fitted with cameras and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) forsurveillance and conducted area mapping to keep watch on the movement ofthe people. The forces’ personnel have erected checkpoints at variouslocations in the city.Narendra Modi is visiting occupied Kashmir, Ladakh and Jammu on Sunday tolay foundation of developmental projects.It is to mention here that the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising SyedAli Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik has called forcomplete shutdown in occupied Kashmir to protest against Narendra Modi’svisit to the territory.
