WASHINGTON – Pentagon Spokesman US Army Lt. Col. Dave Eastburn said the twocountries are looking at early implementation of secure communication linesbetween Minister of External Affairs of India and the US Secretary of Stateand between the Minister of Defence of India and the US Secretary ofDefense.
“Both sides are reviewing the technical specifications for establishing thetwo secure communication lines and look forward to early implementation,”Eastburn said.
The two sides had agreed to establish secure communication lines was takenat the inaugural US-India Ministerial 2+2 in New Delhi on September 6, hesaid.
During the 2+2 dialogue, India and US signed the CommunicationsCompatibility and Security Agreement (COMCASA) which will help New Delhiget access to advanced US defense systems and enable it to utilize itsexisting US-origin platforms.
