ISLAMABAD – Ministry of Human Rights has carried out research studies onwomen’s right to inheritance, street children, as well as the harmonizationof domestic laws with international commitments.Talking to APP an official of the Ministry of Human Rights said that theministry has conducted three policies and research studies on crucialtopics including the protection to child from abuse, rights of minorities,protection against torture, improving legal aid and legislation.Policy against gender-based violence, policies on women empowerment andchild abuse have also been concluded, he added.He also said the ministry was also redressing human rights violationsthrough its helpline at 1099. Helpline calls have increased from 4000 to15,500 per month after PTI government came into power, he said.The official termed the performance of child protection centre satisfactory.
