PTI government steers Pakistan out of financial crisis

ISLAMABAD – Former Finance Minister and economic expert, Dr. Salman ShahFriday lauded the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) led government on fillingthe financing gap by taking loans from the friendlycountries.

Talking to PTV, he said the economy of the country was passing through adifficult time when PTI came into power as the current account deficit was$18 billion while the repayment of loans worth $100 billion was also due atthat time when there were only $8 to $10 billion foreign exchange reserves.

The situation could have worsened if the government had not taken financialsupport from the friendly countries.He said the PTI government was steering the country towards right directionto achieve economic goals and its economic policies and programmes wouldfurther stable the economy.He expressed the hope the Supplementary Budget would have positive impacton national economy. Investment and export would be increased through theSupplementary Budget which would yield positive results to strengthen theeconomy.
