KABUL – Afghan Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah has said the United Stateshas assured Afghanistan’s government that any U.S. Troop pullout would notaffect the combat abilities of remaining forces.
In an interview in Davos Abdullah said news last month that presidentDonald Trump was planning to withdraw 5,000 U.S. Troops had caused uneasein the government.
He said since then, however, U.S. Officials had told the afghan governmentthat no final decision had been made, and that Washington remainedcommitted to supporting Afghan defense and security institutions.
