*LAHORE – Punjab government has decided not to allow celebration of Basantfestival across the province.*
According to sources, the decision was taken in a meeting chaired byPunjab’s Senior Minister Abdul Aleem Khan and a detail reply of thegovernment will be submitted in the Lahore High Court tomorrow.
Reportedly, the minister said four to six months are required to takepreventive steps to ensure celebration of Basant in a peaceful manner.
The festival can be celebrated in future if the concerned departments playtheir active role.
