*LAHORE: The Punjab government on Tuesday made large-scale transfers andpostings in the counter terrorism department (CTD) after the Sahiwalincident. *
According to a notification issues by Punjab’s Services and GeneralAdministration Department (S&GAD), CTD chief Additional Inspector General(AIG) Roy Tahir was made officer on special duty (OSD).
While Rao Sardar was given additional charge of AIG CTD and the services ofDIG Babar Sarfraz and Azhar Hameed were handed over to the federalgovernment, reads the notification.
Humayun Bashir Tarar was appointed as DIG CTD, Ahmad Ishaq Jahangir wasgiven additional charge of DIG operations Punjab. However DIG ZulfiqarHameed was given additional charge of AIG operations.
Earlier in the day, Punjab Law Minister Raja Basharat, while terming theSahiwal encounter ‘100 percent correct’, had said the initial investigationreport by the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) had held the Counter TerrorismDepartment (CTD) officials responsible for the loss of innocent lives inSahiwal.
