NEW DELHI – Former Indian cricketer Jacob Martin is admitted in a Vadodarahospital and on life support after he met with an accident on 28 December.
He is on a ventilator after the accident caused injuries to his lungs andliver.
The top board has sanctioned INR 5 lakhs while the Baroda CricketAssociation – for whom Martin won the Ranji trophy – also come forward andsanctioned Rs 3 lakhs.
Martin who made his India debut under Ganguly in September 1999 has playedten ODIs for India. When asked about the Martin, Ganguly said, “Martin andI have been teammates and I remember him as a quiet, introvert-type ofperson. While praying for Martin’s speedy recovery, I’d like his family toknow that they don’t stand alone”.
Former Baroda Cricket Association secretary Sanjay Patel was among thefirst to help the family. He contacted friends in the cricket fraternityrequesting for help.
