PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government on Friday appointed thefirst woman as a deputy superintendent of police (DSP) in the CounterTerrorism Department (CTD).
Hamida Bano, who is a grade 17 officer, was inducted as an assistantsub-inspector (ASI) in police service in 1996. In 2005, she was posted inthe Central Police Officer as a DSP.
She has served as DSP traffic in the last two years.
In a separate development, Asmat Ara, a grade 17 police officer who waspreviously Peshawar DSP traffic, was transferred to KP special branch.
