Federal government takes important decision over Darra Adam Khel Arms Manufacturing Industry

PESHAWAR – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Shah Farman has said that thetraditional arms manufacturing industry in Darra Adam Khel would bedeveloped into an industrial zone.”The products of the local workers and experts will be provided access tonational and international markets as well as ensuring provision of qualityraw material through legalized registration process,” said the Governorwhile addressing a representative Jirga from FR Kohat Darra Adam Khel whocalled on him at Governor’s House here on Tuesday.The Jirga was comprising MNA Nasir Jamal, former Federal Minister Haji BazGul, Deputy Commissioner Kohat, elders, youth and students of all the sixtribes of FR Kohat. Senior officials of various nation building departmentswere also present on the occasion.The governor pointed out that funds allocation have been made in theprovincial budget for carrying forward development activities in the areaand resolve the grievances of the respective people.As per ten years Federal Package meant of tribal districts, the Governorsaid, various projects costing one hundred billion rupees will be launchedand necessary planning has already been made for this purpose. All suchinitiative, he added, will help bring a big change in the tribal areaswithin next few years.The Governor also realized the jirga members that the tribal people willcontinue availing the incentives which used to be available to them beforemerger and at the same time all the rights and privileges will also beprovided to them which are enjoyed by the people elsewhere in the country.

“The respect and prestige to tribal elders; education and employment tostudents and youths will be ensured and deprivations of the tribal populaceas the whole will be removed”, the Governor said.

While accepting an invitation to visit FR Kohat, the Governor advised thejirga members to constitute a representative jriga which may coordinatewith the administration in the ongoing efforts for resolving grievances ofthe local people and overseeing the development activities in the area.He also pointed out that initiatives were also underway to conductelections against the provincial assembly seats.The Governor said local government election would also be held and oneNazim will be elected at each sub-division and FR level who will constitutetheir respective cabinet. Similarly, he added, Nazimeen of more than 800village councils will also be elected.
