Karachi Bakery forced to change name in India in a big claimed victory for Hindu extremists

NEW DELHI – A a six-decade old bakery chain, Karachi Bakery was set up in1953 after owners migrated to India from Pakistan after partition.

Karachi Bakery outlet in Bengaluru’s Indiranagar was forced by Hinduextremists to cover the “Karachi” part of its signboard outside the shopamid calls for change of the name of the bakery.

The staff told NDTV they have been asked by the police to remain careful.[image: ajq4juo8]

“The brand was established in 1953 and is an Indian company based out ofHyderabad, Telangana.

The popularity and love of its products has contributed to its growth inIndia and abroad,” the post reads.
