ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has announced verdict in allreview petitions filed by Asif Ali Zardari.
SC dismissed on Tuesday all the review petitions submitted by the PakistanPeoples Party in the fake accounts case.
PPP leader and former president Asif Ali Zardari had appealed for a largerSupreme Court bench to hear his review petition in the long-running moneylaundering and fake bank accounts case.
The review petitions were filed by Zardari, his sister Faryal Talpur, AnwarMajeed and the Omni Group.
In the hearing today, the chief justice remarked that the arguments werebased on concerns.
Zardari’s lawyer, Advocate Latif Khosa, filed a separate plea on the formerpresident’s behalf for constitution of a larger bench, as the court heardreview petitions filed by Zardari, his sister Faryal Talpur and Sindh ChiefMinister Murad Ali Shah requesting it to restrain the Federal InvestigationAgency (FIA) from probing the fake accounts case.
