ISLAMABAD – A trilateral summit of Turkish, Russian and Iranian leaders onSyria crisis began in the Russian city of Sochi on Thursday.
Besides Russian President Vladimir Putin, his Turkish counterpart RecepTayyip Erdogan and Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani is attending thesummit to seek a long-term settlement of Syrian crisis.
Earlier, talking to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin ahead of thesummit, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Syria’s territorialintegrity will not be ensured unless the PYD/YPG terror group is clearedaway from the areas near Turkish border.
Erdogan said Turkey welcomes Russia’s positive attitude towards a proposedsafe zone in northern Syria as long as it serves to address Turkey’snational security concerns.
