ISLAMABAD – Former Afghan President and commander of the Afghan Mujahideen,Sibghatullah Mujaddedi has passed away after protracted illness in Kabul.He was of 93.Pakistan has expressed grief over the sad demise of former President ofAfghanistan, Sibghatullah Mujaddadi.In a condolence message today (Tuesday), Foreign Minister Shah MahmoodQureshi said that his thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved family inthis hour of grief.He prayed to Allah Almighty to grant Mujaddedi highest place in Jannah.Mujaddedi, a prominent Islamic scholar and Jehadi leader, has servedAfghanistan as Chairman of Islamic Jehad Council in 1992, Chairman of Loyajirga in 2003 and as Chairman of Meshrano jirga in 2005.He has been an active member of High Peace Council and made substantialefforts towards peace and stability in Afghanistan.
